Dunadry Hotel and Country Club & Green Themed Weddings

DUNADRY HOTEL AND COUNTRY CLUB ANTRIM
&
GREEN THEMED WEDDINGS

In light of it being the wonderful St Patricks day across the globe we are using our blog to give a little inspiration to all brides who want a splash of lime / emerald green to their wedding day.  We have photographed green bridesmaids dresses before at the lovely wedding of Judith and Darren at the Dunadry Hotel and Country Club in Antrim.  As Northern Ireland wedding photographers we love the Dunadry you very rarely need to go anywhere else for photographs as there are so many nooks and crannys around the hotel to balance out a beautiful album.  Here is a link to our wedding photography website that has lots of different ideas if you nee some real life wedding inspiration !

Judith very cleverly balanced out her green bridesmaids with 'Autumn themed' planters with terracotta, burned orange, acorns, and large daisy gerbera flowers. Her slideshow is available to view here

Below are a series of 'green' themed wedding photographs /  images that  have pulled from the internet.  I think you can agree that there are 40 shades of green so its good to pair it with a contrasting colour (like the lovely Judith at the Dunadry wedding above) to make it blend in perfectly.

LOVE RED THEMED WEDDINGS

LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED

This month it being the month of all love-liness and things heart shaped I wanted to concentrate on

 'LOVE THEMED WEDDINGS'

Although I haven't been lucky enough to photograph any <3 shaped loved fest weddings.  I think they are quite cute and they allow for some lovely use of props, which we love as wedding photographers in Belfast where it rains ALOT! we generally use props like balloons, umbrellas, shoes that sort of thing to show how your theme all comes together.

We are posting photos of anything red and love struck in wedding land for inspiration.  I think that the best combination with props is simplicity, once you start getting to detailed you tend to overcrowd the photo so the images I have chosen are ones that I think work well and make for a good photo (well at least in my humble opinion of being wedding photographer of the year whoop!)

Dont forget to visit our real brides photography slide show for inspiration http://www.pure-pictures.co.uk/gallery-wedding-couples.php Most of the wedding photographs are on location all over Irelan.

This mad alice in wonderland style cake in black red and white is not to everyones tastes but due to alice in wonderland being a crazy theme this cake could have been any colour in the world and still bee acceptable!
The big papier mache loe heart as a backdrop and  love hearts up the ailse just make me smile.  I think with a bit of time you could easily do this yourself and make a real statement of love on your wedding day.
This is a more classic cake ith damask icing and red ribbon, very traditional with black polka dot on 2 layers so that it doesnt overpower the design most wedding cakes would be 3 tier.
This outdoor wedding (again must be american as it rains here alot in Belfast) but i love the simplicity of the bunting ailse runners in a mix of pinks and reds. If you look closely the groom is wearing a pink tie! As we say here in Belfast happy wife happy life eh?
I love these shoes, can you imaging ivory dress top to toe and then underneath a bright splash of colour!  Coloured shoes are the way forward to as a colour pop with out going over the top.
DIY cake toppers of felt hearts on a stick. someone could make this cake for you as its not traditional and is on a normal cake stand nothing fancy and very laid back.
This cake table is very simple, but what makes it special is all the props that have been used.  If you scan the table there are actually alot off thought has went into this.  There are stacked boks, fresh floers, 2 cake stands, a handmade heart backdrop, lace/crochet tablecloth, all of which just look like the most adorable cake table ever!  Little details like this make a big difference when we ar`e photographing your day, it adds to the atmosphere and style of your album.

The love balloon in the middle of the room I think is a really quirky wedding image.  Its ads a bit of fun to the room and is a reminder of what the day is about, Love :)

(wish I had have done this a mine! SO im going to make my next bride do this hee hee)

INSPIRATION FOR LOVE / RED THEMED WEDDINGS
Below I have pulled a series of images off the internet to show the theme of love and red at a wedding they might prove useful.  Remember if you want to add colour to the wedding red is very bold! so dont colour the whole room and tone it down with other colours like pinks and purples or contracts with teal or blues.

Good luck and happy wedding planning, May love be with you!
